Here is some audition advice from the Atlanta Children's Theater Company blog-
"There will come times when the director decides they’d like to see more.  They may even “re-direct” you.  They may offer a technical note: “Do it again, but this time really project and articulate your words.”  Or they may give you a more character-specific note: “This time, when you say your monologue, I want to see you even more excited in the beginning!”  Or they could throw out something completely outlandish... However silly your direction may be, you want to apply it with all your heart and with all your energy.  True, this note may not be something the director would want you to do in the show, but they definitely want to see how well you could do it.  They need to know that you can take direction.  If you resist and only do it halfheartedly,  you’re showing the director that you may be difficult to work with in rehearsals (which makes the director’s job that much harder).  Instead, dive in, don’t worry about looking silly, and give it all you’ve got!  Which leads us to our next point…Have fun! Those people in front of you — the directors, choreographer, producer, etc... They are there to see you showcase your talents.  They want you to be good!  Really.  They would love nothing more than if you walked in as the answer to all of their casting prayers.  So don’t dread this process — look forward to it.  Don’t think “I have to audition.”  Think: “I get  to audition!”  If you walk in with this attitude, it will cross over into everything you do and stand out that much more in the memory of the casting director (and you want that!)."

BREAK A LEG on Tuesday!!

Hey gang. Just a couple of reminders-
1. The audition times were posted, then updated and reposted.
I'll put the updated version at the bottom of this blog post.*

2. Your accompaniment music is posted on the blog titled- "HELLO 2019-2020!!!"
Don't rehearse your song without the accompaniment music.

3. Consider the notes you were given on your audition.
This is a great opportunity to improve your audition and to show how well you can take direction.

4. πŸ“ƒ Bring your headshot and resume.

5. Remember, we are rooting for you - yes, YOU.
We're on your side.
We are hoping that you will come in and knock our socks off!

6. Be proud of yourself for having the courage and determination to audition, we're proud of you!

7. Whatever the outcome, be sure to handle the way that you feel about the cast list appropriately.
If you are thrilled with your role, great. By all means, celebrate with your family, and be humble & supportive with the cast.
If you are disappointed with your role, it's ok! It's ok to feel that, talk about it with your family.
But remember that you were chosen to help tell this story to the audience. It is absolutely, 100% true that every actor in the cast is important part of the production. So, feel your feels, but then, put on your big actor pants and come ready to work as part of this ensemble production. There is A LOT of work to be done by everyone, it's a really big show! Create magic in your character!
