One Jump!!

This Tuesday's rehearsal
This week we'll pick up where we left off, at One Jump Ahead.
Please review your blocking/choreography and lyrics for this number. Be sure to make note of exactly which lyrics belong to you. We'll then move on through the show in order.
Do you have your scene break down sheet filled out so that you'll be in the right place at the right time? Horray!!

Props
I'm trying to make sure I have a list of ALL of the props. If I've told you that you will be using a prop or props I'd like to check your list against mine. Look through your script and write on the last page any props or set pieces we've discussed you using like a basket, box, platter, candle, stool, rat, hat, etc, etc....

Notes from Thursday
Garvey- Congratulations on knowing your lyrics and choreography so well! You've been working really hard and bringing lots of energy to your performance. Now it's time to step it up a notch. As you sing Friend Like Me (as well as everything else 😏) , think about the lyrics, exactly what you are saying. Why are you saying these things? Who are you talking to? How do you feel about it?
Anahit- Great job making some very strong decisions about Jasmine and how she feels. Also, you're doing well really trying to communicate w the other characters. Remember that this is the first time that the audience sees you. Gets to know you. They know that you are strong and that you are completely opposed to the tradition that you be forced to marry but they need a chance to see the whole character right away. They should fall in love with you. 😍 So, 1. Let the audience see your excitement at being out of the castle, you almost never get to go out in the market place,  2. You're angry with your dad, but pick at least one time to find a reason to smile at him. You really do love him, you just need him to listen to you. 3. Find a time to enjoy a moment with your ladies in waiting. 4. Find a moment to reach out to "the people", show some compassion- give Antonia something, or a kiss on the cheek.

Here's a thought...
"Suit the action to the word, the word to the action, with this special observance, that you o'erstep not the modesty of nature."
-Hamlet, Act III, scene 2, line 19

Hamlet is talking to some actors and giving them acting advice.
*Hint - in this situation "modesty" means honesty, or truthfulness. Oh, and "o'erstep" is a contraction of overstep.

And, here is the form that I was talking about at rehearsal on Thursday
